Celebrating an incredible year at Reed's Crossing
Ever since the birth of Reed’s Crossing, Oregonians have recognized that this master-planned community is “not your grandpa’s suburb.” Rooted in New Urbanist design principles, with acres of green space and a diverse community as cornerstones of the project, we’re a little different from what most people think of when they hear the word “suburbs.”
Fast-forward a handful of years, and it’s almost impossible to believe how much has changed. Read on for the biggest announcements of the year—and make sure you didn't miss anything!
🛍️ Gramor announced 20+ shops & restaurants destined for Town Center
After local developer Gramor released the first wave of businesses coming to Reed’s Crossing Town Center, the list has only continued to grow. With a wide range of shops, restaurants, and services—including a grocery store, coffee shop, burger joint, sushi restaurant, vet clinic, salon, neighborhood bar, and more—Town Center invites you to leave your car at home and enjoy a stroll along the community’s network of interconnected paths to access most everything you may need.
🍅 Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets opened at Reed's Crossing
A one-of-a-kind neighborhood market owned and operated by the beloved Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets, the South Hillsboro Farmers’ Market is proud to contribute to the cultural and economic vibrancy of the area by supporting local business, promoting healthy living, fostering community, and providing a vital outlet for local farmers and artisans to sell their wares right here in Reed’s Crossing Park. Stay tuned for information about next year’s market schedule!
🌳 We celebrated the grand opening of Reed's Crossing Park
In May 2024, the City of Hillsboro went all-out on a ribbon cutting event for the newest park in Reed’s Crossing. Featuring one of Oregon’s first outdoor, synthetic boulder gardens, with boulders of varying sizes, it’s a great spot to get some practice or teach kids climbing and coordination skills. The park also includes an amphitheater for events, a viewing mound with a fire pit, a contemplative garden, children’s play areas, easy access to the nearby dog park, and plenty of spots to sit down for a rest, including Adirondack chairs, cafe tables, and benches.
🍿 The HOA kicked off Flix in the Park and more great events
From Wonka in the park to the first (and second!) community-wide garage sale, 2024 saw a lot of ‘firsts’ at Reed’s Crossing. This year’s HOA-sponsored events included a scavenger hunt, movies under the stars, food truck picnics, bowling nights, a potluck and salsa contest in the community garden, a 5k run/walk, cozy firepit nights with abundant s’mores, and much more. Just another amazing benefit of living in the best-selling new home community in Portland!
🌉 The new Cornelius Pass Bridge connected the communities of South Hillsboro
Construction on the Cornelius Pass Road Bridge broke ground in October 2022, and the city marked its completion with a ribbon-cutting event in late August. One of Washington County's longest single-span bridges, only the River Road Bridge surpasses it. For those in the area, the new bridge will shorten commutes, make popping to the shops easier, and open up more opportunities to connect with your neighbors. That’s what we call a win-win-win!
🗝️ Savanna at Reed’s Crossing opened new rental townhomes and apartments
A recent addition to Town Center, Savanna at Reed’s Crossing began leasing their anticipated townhomes and apartments in 2024, centrally located right next to Providence Health Center. With spacious 3-bedroom townhomes and 1, 2, or 3-bedroom apartments, the project boasts a wide array of exclusive amenities for renters, like a pool and spa, a co-work lounge with private work pods, an entertaining kitchen, a fitness studio, a bike lounge and repair station, and more. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who would love to live in this beautiful community but isn’t quite ready to buy a home!
🐸 A bevy of tiny frogs charmed the neighborhood
As part of our commitment to the preservation of healthy habitats, Reed’s Crossing is a place where native plantings and wildlife coexist naturally with homeowners. And in August, our socials were overrun with resident-shared photos and videos of adorable tiny frogs found throughout the neighborhood! Running through the center of the community, the 23-acre Greenway is a protected natural area that a wide variety of wildlife calls home, including egrets, blue herons, starlings, wrens, hummingbirds, doves, frogs, bunnies, and a variety of ducks.
🔬 OMSI summer camps came to Reed's Crossing
In a master-planned community, education is often built right into the neighborhood. Welcoming its first class in 2023, Tamarack Elementary School enjoys a first-of-its-kind partnership with Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), integrating scientific inquiry as part of its curriculum while also hosting various OMSI summer camp programs. Thanks to a symbiotic partnership with the community, the school’s gymnasium and turf field are available to area youth, while nearby Tamarack Park and the Nature Education Area offer great opportunities for outdoor learning.
🎂 We celebrated our fifth birthday
From our debut in 2019 to being named one of the country’s top 5 master-planned communities, Reed’s Crossing has captured the hearts of Portland-area homebuyers with beautiful homes, abundant green space, and a warm feeling of community that can be hard to find in this modern world. From resident clubs to cultural celebrations, it’s easy to find your people here. And there’s still much more to come!
